Hello and happy Monday!

I had a fun and very active weekend…let’s just dig right in, shall we?

Friday evening was tostada night at Danny and Courtney’s house…#bestnightever

Somehow tostadas led to a lively game of Scattergories, which led to target practice with airsoft guns, which led to an epic 3-song-in-a-row Just Dance battle between me and John. I won by the way!

Not so great was the fact that I came home to my BIKE PEDALS missing. Seriously, who steals bike pedals?! I’ve had 3 tires stolen over the past 2 years living at this apartment, but I never thought pedal theft would be something to watch out for?!

On Saturday, I spent a few hours organizing my room (check out the Xoso shirt collection…it’s growing!), then rocked one of those Xoso shirts to the gym. I used the lateral elliptical (totally neat machine, but it came back to bite me in the ass…more on that later) and did some ab/core work.

The original plan on Saturday night was to have a dance-themed video game re-match and we figured a DDR battle was appropriate. However, we didn’t anticipate how difficult it would be to play DDR in a loud crowded bar — we couldn’t hear ANY of the music and failed both our attempts within 30 seconds. I did have an epic game of giant Jenga with all the guys though!

I made it home early because I wanted to get in a run before it was too hot. Mission kindasortanotreally accomplished…I went out at 9am and it was already 70 degrees. By the time I finished 8.6 miles, it was in the low 80’s and that combined with the lateral elliptical the day before and a really worn out pair of running shoes made for a REALLY crappy run. It was my slowest all year of any distance (I averaged like 9:45/mi), but at least I did it, right? I’m now kicking myself for deciding to train for another half marathon in this heat.

Anyway, afterward I went to Macy’s and bought a bunch of Nike gear because they were having a sale…then it was off to Elixir to watch Costa Rica vs Greece with Matt and Shannon. I also macked on some mimosas, toast & eggs. All the best things!!

After the match ended, we headed over to the league bar to hang until our dodgeball game, which we won handily. I drank beer and ate prooobably almost an entire basket of French fries because I knew I wouldn’t be able to have them again for a while:

I arrived at work to see that our juice was being delivered!! I am doing the Peel’d 3-Day cleanse this week with 3 of my coworkers, which is perfect because we can all have our juices delivered to the office.

Each day, we will receive a smoothie (with protein powder), two juices, and a salad. That pretty much covers breakfast and lunch, so I’m only on the hook for snacks and dinner. I like this cleanse because you’re allowed to actually EAT:

During these 3 days, gently but firmly challenge yourself to eat a diet of simply fruits and vegetables. It’s been our experience that adhering closely to this all fruits and veggies regimen produces the most success. In order to get the most out of your cleanse, these are the four most important rules:

DO NOT GO HUNGRY. This process isn’t about depriving yourself, but feeding yourself large amounts of foods that will nourish, support and heal you.

This is what we will be avoiding for the next 3 days:

Wheat
Corn
Refined Sugar
Soy
Dairy
Meat
Eggs
Beans
Caffeine
Alcohol
