Treat Yourself Tuesday

I am suuuuper excited to be linking up for Treat Yourself Tuesday today with my lady Becky, who recently moved to Florida!! Around this time last year, we were getting ready to visit her in Chicago…can’t wait for our next Blend trip to sunny Florida 😉 Preferably during the winter months! #justsayin

Anyway, every Tuesday in this little blogosphere we ladies (and fellas) come together to share how we have treated ourselves lately. I love reading through Becky’s post to see what fabulous things people have been doing. She puts it best:

“Do whatever feels best for you. Do something that will make you feel relaxed and loved and happy. Treat yourself well and treat yourself often so that you will become the best you possible and in turn be your best for others in your life!”

First of all, one of the best treats I found this week was the Fall Limited Batch Chobani yogurts– on sale for 59 cents at Grocery Outlet!

{Also, let’s not talk about the fact that this was my first trip to the grocery store in nearly 3 weeks. I just moved into a new apartment and was legitimately living off protein bars for breakfast, frozen burritos for lunch, and cheese & crackers for dinner. I’m not proud!}

I’m normally actually not a huge pumpkin fan — I know — but you guys. The pumpkin spice and apple cinnamon limited batch yogurts are BOTH to die for. Go get them ASAP!!

In addition to not really having the time to go grocery shopping over the past few weeks, it had also been at least a month since I had painted my nails. I think I’ve mentioned before that painting my nails is pretty much my #1 relaxation activity and I usually do it once a week. On Friday night, I finally had the chance to sit down on the couch with a glass of wine and some sparkly polish and I vegged out while watching Moulin Rouge.

P.S. It’s a total treat to have a TV in my new apartment, even without cable! I used to watch everything on my iPad. Now I can at least watch both DVD/Blu-Ray and Netflix…which I also did:

After Moulin Rouge, I actually appropriately watched the #TreatYoSelf episode of Parks & Rec 😉

The next treat of this weekend was a very successful last long training run for this weekend’s half marathon. I was pretty close to race pace and even had a new friend join me for my pre-run stretches. When I have runs like this that go so well, it makes me remember why I like running in the first place…last weekend, when it took me 2 hours to run 12 miles, I just wanted to quit altogether. Not this time!

After my long run, we got a big group together to play a new-to-me sport, Foot Golf, for Russell’s birthday. It was super fun, and a nice way to incorporate minimal exercise with our drinking 😉 Plus, the Giants beat the Cardinals shortly after!

IMG_8919And I will leave you with a picture of the glorious “semi homemade” pizza that Russell and I ate while watching football on Sunday. Pizza is always a treat. Can you guess which portion is mine? 😛

How did you treat yourself this week?

What is your favorite fall flavor?

  1. Hmmm… the portion with ALL the veggies?! 😉 And you always have the best nail polish – I can’t believe it had been so long since you painted them. Finally… when are ya coming to visit?! We need to get something on the calendar 🙂
