Weekend in Photos

A little belated, but I figured Monday night was a better time than never at all to share pictures from my weekend!

Between coming back to work after the holiday for a hectic week at the office last week, and a busy day today that involved 6 hours of meetings, I made sure to cherish every moment of this past weekend, and took it relatively easy.

IMG_9582The weekend kicked off with the Kings game on Friday night. Shannon’s parents have season tickets and were kind enough to let us use them for the night! We played the Pacers and though we had the lead the entire game, it ended up going into overtime and we won by 1 point (!!!)

The next day, I hit the gym in the morning and around noon, Russell and I headed out to Apple Hill. Apple Hill is most popular during the fall months (when apples are actually in season and you can pick pumpkins at pumpkin patches, etc), but we have been so busy between birthdays, sports, work and other things that we didn’t make it up until now. Since most of the places in the area were in Christmas Tree mode, we opted to spend most of the afternoon enjoying a break in the rainy weather we’ve been having lately at Jack Russell Brewery. We also eventually got apple cider donuts from Rainbow Orchard, which were TO DIE FOR.

IMG_9583On Sunday morning, we went to brunch at Pour House with Russell’s brother and sister-in-law who were in town for a wedding. In a rare moment, Katie the Mimosa Queen actually opted for a Bloody Mary! Pour House has the only one I’ve ever enjoyed 🙂

On our way home, we stopped to watch part of the last leg of the California International Marathon. Last year I watched the finish line of this marathon, and was so inspired that I went home and signed up for my first half marathon!

The rest of the day involved lounging around in Russ’s comfy pj pants watching football, and a quick stop for deep dish pizza at Chicago Fire, followed by an eerie fog-filled bike ride home. A nice relaxing end to an eventful, yet relaxing weekend!

    • It was so good! I’ve actually been to Connecticut in the fall, so I can tell ya you’ve got some very similar stuff in your future if you guys didn’t get a chance to do any fun autumn things this year!
