I sincerely intended to post a Weekend in Photos update yesterday- truly, I did. But I have been buried at work. Let’s just say my pre-birthday weekend was super fun, and a “birthday week” post is definitely in the works in the future!
So In an effort to get some more entries in my little blog space despite a lack of documentation of my weekend shenanigans, I was glad to see I had a draft post waiting in my pile…I filled out one of my favorite blog post cop-outs: a survey!
And though I’m not sure these 20 questions are as scandalous as some games of 20 Questions turned when I was a teenager, it was pretty fun to fill out all the same. Read on
What is your road trip essential snack?
Lately it has been beef jerky, everyyyy time. I feel like Russell and I don’t go on any >1 hour car ride without stopping at a gas station for beef jerky. It’s actually one of the most healthy options you’ll find at gas station stores too!
You’ve been handed two free round-trip tickets…who are you taking and where are you going?
Right now I’m really into the idea of visiting American cities I haven’t been to, like Boston or New Orleans (2 TOTALLY different cities, I know), but it would have to be either Hawaii or Europe (either back to France, or somewhere I haven’t been like Austria/Hungary or Italy/Greece). I would take Russell because we travel really well together, and, truth be told…he plans awesome trips!
What was your high school jam?
HA. At least earlier in high school, I’d say anything by Taking Back Sunday, Blink-182, Simple Plan, Dashboard Confessional, etc. Emo pop punk all the way for teenage Katie!
Would you rather have a perfect bum, or a flawless face?
If you aren’t born with a perfect behind, you can probably (more or less) achieve one with the right exercises…A flawless face, however, requires needles & knives. No thanks! Give me a nice (natural) face!
What shows are you ashamed to admit are on your DVR?
Not too many terrible ones at the moment, actually. I will admit, though, that I had way too much fun watching Jeopardy one night a week or 2 ago. We’re talkin yelling the answers out so I could prove to Russell (in the other room) that I knew them 😉
What’s your ringtone?
We No Speak Americano. This song was HUGE the second time I lived in France, and as soon as I finally got myself an iPhone upon my return, I made it my ringtone and haven’t changed it since.
What was your first car, and did you name it?
It was a ’96 (?) Honda Accord, and no, but being that I drove it between 2004-2006, it totally had awesome Roxy stickers on it.
Do you have any siblings, and if so, where are you in the birth order?
I am the older of two siblings. Not sure I can call him my “little” brother though, as he’s 11 inches taller than me…
What would you request for your last supper?
This is the worst/hardest question ever. Whatever it was, it would have to be something extremely decadent that I normally would classify into the “too unhealthy” category.
Have you ever been hospitalized, and if so, what for?
Yes, between the ER and hospital I was there for 2 days and 2 nights to monitor a concussion earlier this spring.
How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller, shorter…or are you just right?I am either 5″4′ or 5″5’…Jury’s out. I’m really short compared to most of my extended family, but I feel like I’m pretty average and probably wouldn’t want to be any taller.
Do you prefer to DIY or hire it out?
It all depends on the project – for instance I love to paint my own nails rather than ‘hiring out’ a manicure, but I will most certainly be calling my landlord about the broken toilet handle I am currently dealing with in my apartment 😉
What do you eat for breakfast?
For the past month or two, it has either been a suuuuper low maintenance protein powder & almond milk mixture, or an actual smoothie with frozen strawberry, banana, almond milk, greek yogurt & protein powder. I’ve also recently branched out to an egg on toast. I’m guessing someday it might start getting too cold for smoothies and I’ll switch to oats…but that day has not yet arrived!
What would you do for a living if you didn’t need money?
Probably nothing but travel. Actually, there’s an organization here in town that goes to schools and teaches kids about nutrition and how to cook – I feel like I would like to spend my time working with an organization like that, or like Girls on the Run.
Finish this sentence: Every room needs….
A light source? You are asking the wrong person, I know nothing about design and decor 😉
How frequently do you wash your hair? Do you have any hair secrets or tricks?
Either every day or every other day…I pretty much have to wash it every day I work out, so the every other day thing doesn’t always work. My hair trick is to twirl my hair into 4-5 ringlets when it’s wet and ride my bike to work instead of blow drying. I swear I get to work and it looks like I’ve spent 30 minutes curling my hair!
Will you leave the house without makeup?
I rarely leave the house WITH makeup! Ask my coworkers…you can often find me in the bathroom at my office around noon finally putting on my makeup for the day ha ha. It often depends on when/if I am meeting with a client that day. Otherwise, ain’t nobody got time for that, and I’m not trying to impress any of my coworkers.
You just unloaded your Halloween haul…what candy do you go for first?
Reeses and Twix! Can’t beat peanut butter and caramel. Mmmmmm.
